Lindbergh does Brody

My heart skipped a beat when I saw Peter Lindbergh's editorial featuring Adrien Brody and Asia Argento. Well, admittedly my heart skips a beat every time I see a picture of Adrien Brody, but Lindbergh's photographs are exceptional. This man didn't pick up a camera until the age of twenty-seven! Since then he has become one of the most acclaimed fashion photographers, with his work appearing in almost every major fashion magazine (this means internationally!) you can manage to get your hands on. In addition to photographing nearly every major star, he has comprised a book, made music videos, and directed short films. Click here if you would like to peruse through Lindbergh's editorials. Prepare to be amazed.

Also, I am dying to see The Brother's Bloom.

Happy 23rd!

On my 23rd (yikes!) birthday, November 14th, Jimmy Choo will be launching an inexpensive line of shoes and other accessories at H&M! I applaud H&M for adding him to their list of collaborators, along with Stella McCartney and Roberto Cavalli. Now women don't have to spend an arm an a leg to own a pair of stunning Jimmy Choo stilettos. And don't worry boys- a men's line will be launched as well. I'm looking forward to the days when my budget will be limitless, but for now this will do.

MTT and Harry Partch

San Francisco Symphony director Michael Tilson Thomas co-produced an enlightening online radio series called American Mavericks. This site features incredible composers such as Laurie Anderson, Charles Ives and Steve Reich... so if you're into the innovative sounds of these musicians, you'll love this site.

Be sure to check out the section on Harry Partch and his home-made original instruments. Partch was one amazing hobo.

Limber de coco

I came across this tasty summer treat on thenoshery.com: Limber de coco, a cinnamon coconut cream popsicle from Puerto Rico. I'm a big fan of this site despite my un-brag-worthy skills in the kitchen. You would think someone who loves food as much as I do would be a genius chef. Oh, well... I'm working on it. At least these small simplicities are easy to make.

The recipe says the shredded coconut is optional, but I say its mandatory. Also, the more cinnamon the better. Mmmmm, yes. I love summer.

1/2 can evaporated milk
1/2 can coconut milk
1/4 cup sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 egg yolk
Cinammon to taste
1/2 cup of shredded coconut (optional)

Directions

Mix evaporated milk, coconut milk, sugar, vanilla, egg yolk and cinammon in a bowl. Add additional sugar and cinnamon to taste.

Pour into popsicle molds.

Freeze and Enjoy!!

The Debut

After taking too much time choosing colors and fonts, I've created a blog. A summer project? Maybe. My claim to fame? Doubtful. Even though I'd love to become The Sartorialist, my life's ambitions are elsewhere. I've stayed smitten with all kinds of blogs, so why not create one of my own?

What are your summer plans? A road trip, maybe? David Lynch, renaissance man of the film world, can show you the way with his Interview Project. Throughout the summer, Lynch (or his crew, rather) will be on a road trip presenting a series of interviews of various nobodies around America. It reminds me of neorealism- unprofessional actors, on-site shooting, raw content. I'll definitely be tuning in.

David Lynch- actor, producer, director, screenwriter... and model.
